Stephen Rice has always enjoyed telling humorous and dramatic stories.
He has a B.A. (double major) in Linguistics and in Foreign Languages, and an M.A. in English (Professional Writing and Editing), both from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. His writing frequently involves someone with an interest in languages, and he has been known to invent languages for stories.
He writes mostly science fiction, with an emphasis on scientific and theological accuracy. (His motto is "Hard science, hard theology, easy reading.") He won't write a story he can't justify theologically.
His first novella was Galatea, a Tale of the Atonement, but the first story he started on was A World Apart, intended to be the first book of a YA sci-fi series. He tends more toward series at the moment, such as "Changelings," "The League of Superheroes," and "The False Dawn."
His current projects include "The League of Superheroes" origin series (he is now working on the fifth and final origin book, Genie Reborn) and several short stories.

Actually, no. I was visiting a kennel after work because the owner has a digital camera (I share a vampire's aversion to pictures) and I asked her to take a picture of me for authorsden.com. Unfortunately, that had me facing into the sun, and I'm a bit light-sensitive as well. You can see a bit of Grand Mesa (Colorado) behind me.

Just wondering, if you are working on your fifth and final origin book, where are the other four? Ansric's Crew keep alluding to stories, but I can't find any trace of them (other than the three in LATEOD). You see, I have designated myself as the unofficial TWCP reader, and I intend to read everything that comes from TWCP authors.
I prefer to work ahead. While Writers' Café will be publishing The League of Superheroes, I've already written most of the origin series--see the teaser list at http://ansric.pbwiki.com/LoSTeasers
I usually distinguish between stories written or at least started and those I only plan to write. So for League of Superheroes as a series, StarThruster and Timelord are a ways in the future.
